Nutrition

A way of eating built on what has been studied in people: protein, fibre, saturated fat, how processed the food is, and the timing. Built around what you actually eat and cook rather than around an ideal week nobody keeps.

Plan and follow-up

It starts with a week of what you really eat, written down before it gets tidied up. From there we find the two or three changes that do most of the work: protein, fibre, how much of it is ultra-processed, and when you eat.

Nothing is banned for the sake of banning it. Where we do avoid something, the reason is on the page and so is how strong that reason is.

And it is built around what you actually cook and buy, because a plan for somebody else's week is a plan you abandon in ten days.

How it runs

  1. 01

A week of what you really eat, written down without cleaning it up first.

  2. 02

We find the two or three changes that do most of the work, and leave the rest alone.

  3. 03

A plan you can shop and cook from, in the time you actually have.

  4. 04

Adjustment after a few weeks, against how you feel and what your blood work says.

What it is not

Not a crash diet and not a meal plan for a body that is not yours. A result that leaves when you stop was never a result.

The research behind it

In trials where adults were given one sugary drink a day on top of their normal diet, they gained 0.83 kg. Taking one a day away gave half a kilo back. And when you do have one, what is already in your stomach decides how big the sugar spike is.

Is chewing gum bad for you? What your body thinks is coming

The worry is that chewing gum makes your body release insulin as if food were coming, which would matter if you are fasting. Chewing does send that signal, with saliva and gut hormones. When researchers measured the insulin, it had not moved.
